HIGH-RESOLUTION TRACKED PANORAMAS

Eric has been one of the pioneers of tracked panoramas since he seriously started investing his time and money into nightscape photography and astrophotography around 2015. In terms of high-resolution tracked panoramas we are generally referring to photo with a separate foreground (which is not tracked) and a sky (which is tracked). Obviously, because of the rotation of the spherical(!) Earth (that we are standing on), we do not need to track the foreground, only the sky portion of the photo. Tracking stars allows for longer exposures to be taken, generally of less than 5 minutes. This method is particularly advantages when using longer focal lengths, where taking many photos for the foreground and sky allows a high-resolution image to be composed using a panorama stacking method.
